St Aidan’s Memorial Stone
The memorial stone which stands at the head of the Garden-of-Remembrance is to commemorate people who have been buried in St Aidan’s Church-yard, either in the Garden-of-Remembrance or in a family grave.
Entries will be charged at the rate invoiced by the stone-mason at that time. You will be notified of the actual cost prior to engraving.
At the time of engraving a loved ones name, you may wish to reserve a line underneath for perhaps, a husband or wife etc. For this there is an upfront charge of £50, the actual inscription will be charged at the appropriate rate at that time, minus the £50 deposit. For anyone who has already reserved an entry, they will be charged the appropriate rate minus whatever fee they have already paid. Note – these changes have been made as the old method of paying meant that the church lost money on every entry, as costs have risen significantly over the years.
At the moment there is no change to the charge for entries in the ‘Book of Remembrance, which is £10.
If you would like to have the name of a departed loved one engraved on the memorial stone, please contact Barbara Goulden on 01744 894694
